I can walk now!
Everyone was great!
Nannie Miller came to Greystone from Select Specialty on a ventilator with a tracheotomy. Nannie worked very hard and diligently with our respiratory and physical therapy staff to wean off of the ventilator and to be able to be mobile and walk unassisted. With Nannie’s hard work and dedication, she was able to discharge from Greystone to home before Mother’s Day. This video testimonial was done just before she said goodbye to our staff and was heading home to be with her family.
Penny M. was great; she was always nice to me.
I like everyone, they all were good to me. But especially Jennifer Puchett was so nice and kind to me.
The Maxey Family
Dear Mr. Mandrell,
We wanted you to know how much we appreciate the excellent care my husband (Samuel “Jasper” Maxey) received at your facility. He came there from another facility in which he received poor care. He had lost 20 pounds in two weeks and was unable to walk due to weakness from the treatment in the previous facility. However, thanks to the physical therapists at Greystone, he learned to walk again.
Your employees had unbelievable compassion when urging him to learn to walk again. I could never repay Siavek for what he did. The first day he met my husband, he sat in the room with him on the bed and hugged him and gained his trust. He never once gave up on him and had him walking the hall before we left. Also, Dee was excellent and is such a compassionate person. She was greatly appreciated.
All the nurses provided great care. Our family could not believe the difference in the care. We also wanted to mention another person who stood out in our mind. It is Jerry Brown. He did each and everything he could do in order to make us all feel at ease. This continued till the day my husband left Greystone. We wanted you to know he goes over and above what is required of him. It was very apparent and we greatly appreciate him. We won’t ever forget his compassion and caring attitude.
You are lucky to have the staff you do at Greystone. I am so thankful that with your help and that of his current home health providers, Amedisys, my husband is doing well and he can walk with only a cane and can even get up and down a few steps. That shows what caring hearts can do for anyone who may have otherwise given up.
Mr. Mandrell,I couldn’t believe you took it upon yourself to help program my husband’s TV and to help us as you did his first day there. All facilities need an administrator like you. Please feel free to share the contents of this letter with the employees (and/or your superiors) we mentioned, etc. We could never thank you all enough.
I chose Greystone for Myself. Every department was very nice. I like being here. Everyone was nice and concerned about my care.
I was admitted to Greystone in December of 2014. When I got there, I was on a ventilator. While I was there, the respiratory therapists worked with me everyday to get me off the ventilator. I was seen by so many wonderful therapists while I was there. The ones that stand out to me are Lucy, Carrie, Donna, Linda, Frieda, and Dave. They were there around the clock. I also worked with a speech therapist named Shelly. She helped me learn to swallow again. She even called herself my “mom” because she cared so much and pushed me to do the best I could in order to get me better. All of the nurses were wonderful, too. Melissa really stands out. She was great.
I became great friends with so many of the staff. Bill Jackson, the guy that delivered supplies, was a true friend. He would even take time to sit and visit with me when he could.
I went to Greystone to get off the ventilator and get my trach out. They did both! Greystone is a great place!
